Greenville Federal Credit Union plans a $9.5 million expansion to its Wade Hampton Boulevard branch location, clearing an adjacent lot for an administrative building.
The three-story, 12,000-square-foot building will include offices, conference rooms and meeting space for over 30 employees in multiple departments. According to a news release, construction will begin later this summer and is expected to be completed by mid-2027.
“Everything we do is only possible because of our members and our dedicated staff,” Paul Hughes, Greenville Federal Credit Union president and CEO, said in the release. “Without them, none of this would even be feasible. The credit union’s strong and steady growth over nearly 60 years has fueled this need for an expanded space. With over 105 employees all based in Greenville, we needed to find space that would prioritize the efficiency and collaboration of our growing workforce.”
The credit union also announced construction on a new branch in Berea in April, with the opening scheduled in early 2027. The location will be the fifth in Greenville County and will feature drive-thru lanes, ATM, a coin counting machine, safe deposit boxes, and multiple private offices.
Creative Builders Inc. is leading both construction projects, with SHLTR as the design architect, the release said.
Expansion for both locations was planned after the credit union reached a milestone of serving over 35,500 members across Greenville County, and surpassed over $500 million in assets. According to the release, the company is now classified as a medium-sized credit union rather than a small-sized credit union.
