An Upstate concreate company has been acquired by an outfit with a presence throughout the Southeast.
Blue Dot Readi-Mix, a leading concrete and materials supplier serving the Charlotte Metro and Piedmont areas of North Carolina, and the upstate of South Carolina, has acquired Sandlapper Concrete LLC, marking the company’s strategic expansion into the Greenville market, according to a news release.
Founded in 2005 by childhood friends Scott Griffin, Tony Griffin and Paul Cochrane in Mint Hill, N.C., Blue Dot Readi-Mix has grown from a shared vision into one of the region’s most trusted concrete suppliers, the release stated. The company operates nine plants in North and South Carolina and has built its reputation on the principle that people drive Blue Dot’s purpose, cause, and passion, fostering a culture of growth, teamwork and commitment, the release stated.
“We are excited and honored to be entering the Greenville market with the acquisition of Sandlapper Concrete,” said Griffin, co-founder of Blue Dot Readi-Mix, said in the release. “We have always respected the people at Sandlapper for their professionalism, integrity, and commitment to service. We have known the leadership team for nearly three decades, and their core values closely align with our own, making this a natural next step for our organization.”
The acquisition represents Blue Dot’s continued commitment to strategic growth while preserving the values and relationships that have driven Sandlapper Concrete’s success in South Carolina, the release stated.
“We are excited for our employees and customers,” said Mark Uldrick, founder, Sandlapper Concrete, in the release. “They can expect business as usual on the job site, combined with enhanced resources and support from the established network of masonry and concrete expertise that comes from being part of the Blue Dot Readi-Mix family.”
Blue Dot Readi-Mix embodies a philosophy of being “large enough to perform and small enough to care” by consistently providing opportunities for employees, encouraging professional growth, and maintaining the highest standards of customer service and quality, the release stated.
Both companies are part of the Trowel Craft Group, a growing network of 10 businesses serving the masonry and concrete construction industry across the Southeast U.S., according to the release.
Sandlapper Concrete also has plants in Simpsonville and Duncan. The company will continue to operate under its existing corporate name while being operated by Blue Dot Readi-Mix.
