The Harbor Entrepreneur Center, a nonprofit organization helping growth of new local companies, has added 20,000 square feet to its office space with a new long-term lease.
The office center received support from the South Carolina Research Authority, the town of Mount Pleasant and Charleston County Economic Development to maintain below-market rates for tenants, according to a news release. Rentals include furniture and access to meeting rooms and event spaces.
“This expansion represents more than just additional square footage; it’s about fueling innovation and giving entrepreneurs the space they need to grow,” said Grady Johnson, the center’s executive director. “We now have added more than two dozen private offices ideal for startups and small business owners, including quad-office suites with shared collaboration areas. Our facility is truly one-of-a-kind and the flexibility of choices from floating desks to private office suites brings so much value to our tenants.”
Harbor Entrepreneur Center relocated to Mount Pleasant at eWall Street in 2023, generating 150 new jobs for more than 100 companies. According to the release, more than 80% of the businesses have expanded since moving to the center and all companies have reported nearly $3 million of revenue.
“We truly value what the Harbor Entrepreneur Center brings to Mount Pleasant and the region,” said Matt Brady, economic development officer for the town of Mount Pleasant. “They’ve built something special here, and we’re proud to partner with them as they continue to strengthen our entrepreneurial ecosystem.”
