Arclin invests $60M in SC plant expansion

A global materials science company has debuted a $60 million expansion.

Arclin has added 60,000 square feet to its Dillon facility, which includes new equipment and a production line, and will create 30 additional jobs, according to a news release.

The Dillon site is now positioned as a critical hub within Arclin’s global network, advancing the company’s leadership in specialized construction and . Currently, the plant produces key components for vapor barriers, floor underlayment, concrete forms, siding and sheathing.

“The expansion of our Dillon facility amplifies our impact and will allow us to reach more customers with our innovative solutions,” said Bradley Bolduc, president and CEO of Arclin, in the release. “Strategic growth, driven by a deep understanding of our customers and commitment to continuous innovation, is key to our long-term success.”

This investment enables Arclin to meet rising demand for several existing products in its portfolio of building solutions and polymer technologies, the release stated. Arclin will also begin domestic production of a product currently manufactured at its United Kingdom facility such that it can more effectively market and sell this product to the U.S. market in the near future.

“We are pleased to be expanding on the success we’ve had in this location since 2022, when we first started operations in Dillon,” said Mark Glaspey, Arclin’s chief operating officer, in the release. “We look forward to continued growth and appreciate the support of the local community, who are valuable partners in helping us unlock a brighter future for everyone.”

As part of Arclin’s commitment to being a strong community partner, the company also announced a new collaboration with Dillon-founded STEM nonprofit AcaSTEMics, the release stated. Together, Arclin and AcaSTEMics will host two upcoming events in Dillon County in late 2025 and early 2026.

“Partnering with AcaSTEMics is a natural fit with our companywide STEM platform which emphasizes volunteering and inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders,” said Glaspey.
