Leaders of an under-development golf community on Lake Greenwood recently invited select community members to view plans of the project.

Those behind the project say Olde Eight Golf Course has the potential to elevate Greenwood County as a premier residential, recreational and commercial destination.

Led by Greenwood Land Holdings LLC, Olde Eight will blend residential neighborhoods with commercial spaces and world-class golf amenities, according to a news release. Along with Greenwood Land Holdings LLC, Front Light Building Company Development will manage the construction and development of the project, which represents a $400 million investment.

“This project represents a groundbreaking step for Greenwood County, combining a unique lifestyle centered around golf, Lake Greenwood, and a host of complementary amenities that enhance the community and align with the overall master plan,” said Matt Green, CEO of FLBC Development, in the release. “We are thrilled to bring this vibrant destination to life, fostering community, attracting new businesses, and drawing visitors from across the nation. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey that will create lasting opportunities and prosperity for Greenwood County.”

The event featured remarks from key project leaders and offered visual displays of development plans and insights into the phased approach to construction, according to the release. With a multi-year phased development schedule, Olde Eight will not only provide residential and recreational opportunities for Greenwood residents but also position Greenwood as a premier destination for corporate retreats, meetings and golf-centered vacations, the release stated.

“Greenwood County is rapidly growing and prepared for continued growth,” said Theo Lane, vice chair of Greenwood County Council, following the reveal event. “Seeing the vision come to life reinforces its significance — bringing quality jobs, meaningful investment, and enhancing the quality of life for our residents. Its innovative design and amenities promise lasting benefits, setting the stage for a prosperous and vibrant future. We’re proud to support a development that will leave a positive legacy for generations to come.”
