Bernie Mazyck has built a career advancing community economic development across the Carolinas. He attended Charleston Southern University before beginning his professional journey as a program manager for the city of Charlotte.

Mazyck returned to South Carolina to serve as vice president of community development for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce, where he strengthened connections between business and community development initiatives. He founded the South Carolina Association for Community Economic Development, where he now serves as president and CEO. Under his leadership, the organization has expanded the capacity of community development organizations throughout the state.

His expertise earned him appointment to the board of the Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond, where he serves a term through 2027. In this role, Mazyck has helped the Richmond Fed better understand economic conditions across the region. He has also chaired the board of the National Alliance of Community Economic Development Associations, extending his influence to the national level. Based in Charleston, Mazyck continues connecting economic opportunity with underserved communities.
