Southeast grocery store chain opens Summerville location

Publix is adding another store to its 1,390-store portfolio, with the new location in Summerville. 

The 48,387-square-foot store opened at 1274 Nexton Parkway with 140 associates, according to a news release.  

Joseph Nettles, who served for 14 years at the Publix at Ashley Landing Mall, will serve as the store manager for the new location. 

“We are excited to expand across the Low Country with another store in Summerville,” Jared Glover, the Publix media relations manager, said in the release. “We look forward to continuing to provide Publix’s legendary service and quality food in this great community.” 

The store will offer a Publix deli with Publix subs, fried chicken and rotisserie chicken, along with other meats and cheeses. According to the release, the deli will have a seating area and free Wi-Fi service.

The Summerville Publix will also have a bakery, produce department, wine department, meat department and seafood department, the release said.  

The store location will be opened from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day. According to the release, the Publix pharmacy will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. during the weekdays with a drive through and varied hours on the weekends.
