Taiwan-based company to bring $12M, 46 jobs to Kershaw County

A Taiwanese metalworking supplier will establish its first North American manufacturing facility in Kershaw County.

Eurocharm Group announced plans to invest $12 million and create 46 new jobs at a 198,000-square-foot facility at 412 Groves St. in Lugoff.

The company manufactures automotive components, motorcycle parts and medical equipment, according to a news release from the state Department of Commerce. The company has more than 4,900 employees at multiple production facilities in Asia.

The Lugoff crew will be involved in metal fabrication, light assembly and warehousing.

“We see tremendous opportunity in South Carolina,” Eurocharm Group Chairman Steven Yu said in the news release. “Between the strategic advantage of the Port of Charleston, the developed land transportation, robust manufacturing base that attracts talent and innovation, and the strong commitment from government at all levels, South Carolina provides the perfect launchpad for ambitious businesses.
