Charlotte firm acquires surgery center in Columbia

, an outpatient firm, has acquired a multispecialty ambulatory surgery center at 109 Blarney Drive in Columbia.

The class A property is fully leased, according to a news release.

Built in 2000, the 20,131-square-foot freestanding facility features five operating rooms, modern infrastructure, and state-of-the-art technology, the release said, and is the operating base for more than 20 surgeons. Located off Two Notch Road at Interstate-77’s Exit 17, the property is less than three miles from MUSC Health Columbia Medical Center Northeast hospital.

As a growing hub to more than a dozen hospitals and major medical centers, Columbia benefits from a robust and skilled of more than 100,000 professionals, the release said. The area’s employment in health care and life sciences continues to grow, outpacing national trends. The further supports this momentum with top-tier health care and biomedical programs, offering companies direct access to a steady pipeline of highly trained professionals.

“We are excited about acquiring this high-quality asset in a growing market anchored by trusted providers as our long-term tenant,” Blake Bratcher, Flagship‘s executive vice president of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, said in the release. “Ambulatory surgery centers are at the forefront of transformation in health care delivery, and we are continuing to capitalize on new opportunities in alignment with physicians and surgery center operators to help them maximize their real estate so they can carry out their mission more effectively.”

Flagship will provide property management and asset management services for the property.
