Indigo Road Hospitality Group has taken a slice out of the up-and-coming North Charleston Navy Yard, opening an Italian restaurant later this summer.
The restaurant, Riva Mare, is located in the Design District of the Navy Yard with a rooftop and open-air dining, focusing on a seafood-based menu.
“Like many Charlestonians, we’ve spent years looking at Navy Yard and imagining its potential,” Steve Palmer, founder and chief vision officer of Indigo Road Hospitality Group, said in a news release, “It’s incredible to see Jamestown, Weaver Capital Partners, and WECCO Development bringing that vision to life. It took the right team with the right vision and determination, and we’re honored to be a part of its future. I’ve always been inspired by extensive travels along the coast of Italy and wanted to create a restaurant that captures the joy, spontaneity, and playful spirit you find there — long, leisurely lunches, vibrant seafood-driven meals, and spaces that invite people to linger. We hope this is a space where people can gather, connect, and enjoy themselves just as you would in this region of Italy.”
Riva Mare’s interior design is led by David Thompson and is inspired by the Italian port city of Genoa and Charleston’s coast, the release said.
The restaurant, located at 2154 Noisette Blvd., Suite 500, will accompany Kravet, Schumacher, The Urban Electric Co., and Smithey Ironware in the Navy Yard.
