SCBIZ swept its division in the business reporting category at this year’s South Carolina Press Association annual awards banquet.

Ross Norton’s coverage of a groundbreaking for South Carolina’s newest automaker was awarded first place. “Isuzu breaks ground on $280M Greenville County plant” was published Oct. 2, 2025.

The judges said “groundbreakings are generally yawners. The writing shines through on this assessment to carry one from lede to the end while getting to know a bit about the key players.”

Hollie Moore’s reporting on plans for Summerville’s captured second place for her June 18 story, “What’s next in Berkeley County’s Nexton master plan?” and she placed third for “SCbio CEO lays the groundwork for future life science industry growth.”

Moore also placed third in the reporting-in-depth category for “Charleston tourism hits record $14B, drives South Carolina’s economy.”

SCBIZ was recognized for its online presence with a second-place prize for the website SCBIZ.com.
