Title
Senior Project Engineer

Trent McJunkin serves as senior project engineer for Isuzu, a 42,000-employee manufacturing company, where he addresses the challenge of balancing rapid technological advancement with workforce development and cultural transformation.

A Tri County Technical College graduate with an associate degree in industrial electronics technology, McJunkin serves on the South Carolina Manufacturing Conference & Expo advisory board, Tri County Technical College Mechatronics Advisory Committee, and Society of Maintenance & Reliability Professionals as member-at-large.

“Don’t forget where you came from,” he says, recalling advice from experienced maintenance professionals that taught him to connect office decisions to shop floor realities and maintain open communication with frontline workers.

His first job in a restaurant kitchen taught him that sound processes prevent chaos.

McJunkin earned IFMA Carolina Chapters Young Member of the Year honors in both 2024 and 2025.

He defines success through developing people and helping them recognize unrealized potential, creating a ripple effect that builds sustainable excellence.

Colleagues might be surprised he once aspired to newspaper writing, encouraged by his high school English teacher. He still uses writing to process complex ideas and communicate clearly with his team.
