Michelle McCollum leads the South Carolina National Heritage Corridor with more than two decades of experience in heritage tourism, economic development and conservation. She is dedicated to preserving, promoting and enhancing the state’s cultural, historical and natural assets through initiatives that connect communities, drive sustainable tourism and create economic opportunities.

McCollum believes in transforming heritage into opportunity by leveraging South Carolina’s diverse history, natural beauty and cultural traditions to fuel economic growth while ensuring long-term sustainability. She helps lead the South Carolina Seven Expedition, a groundbreaking adventure across the state’s seven natural wonders that raises awareness about conservation, resilience and outdoor recreation while engaging leaders and communities in the importance of protecting natural resources.

As a key organizer of the South Carolina Resilience Conference, McCollum brings together experts, policymakers and communities to address climate resilience, sustainability and disaster preparedness. This platform fosters critical discussions and strategies to ensure South Carolina remains strong and resilient in the face of environmental challenges.
