Project description: A full-scale renovation underway at Thornwell College addresses critical building needs with roof and façade repairs, a courtyard redesign and a new entry. Project description: This project consists of a 160,250-square-foot transload facility adjacent to the Hugh Leatherman Port Terminal with direct access to the Port Access Road and Pittsburgh Avenue. It is constructed on the former Macalloy Corporation Superfund site, which underwent extensive remediation in 2005. The project is zoned for heavy industrial uses and includes trailer and container storage yards with a large wet detention and underground stormwater management systems.

The design includes a lounge that overlooks a boat driveway for new purchase and an exterior boat showroom visible from most of the building.

A 4.5-acre concrete yard supports heavy vehicles, supplemented by 50 auto spaces. The design offers flexible industrial and commercial capabilities.

The intent of this project is to renovate 13,223 square feet of the existing first floor within the Evans Building to accommodate SCC’s growing nursing program.
