Breeze Airways launches Charleston to Cancun flights

Breeze Airways is launching new service from Charleston International Airport to Cancun, Mexico. The new route will operate once weekly on Saturdays, with fares starting at $119 one way.

The airline says it is striving to build a flexible network that directly and conveniently connects travelers to underserved cities nationwide, making air travel more accessible to millions of passengers coast to coast.

Breeze announced in September its plans for international flights from Charleston.

“Charleston was one of our original launch cities and we’re excited to once again include the community in the launch of our first international flights next year,” David Neeleman, Breeze Airways’ founder and CEO, said in the release. “This new route to Cancun will be the third international route from CHS, and we know the community will enjoy the convenient and nonstop service to this beautiful, tropical destination.”

Breeze Airways operates more than 300 year-round and seasonal routes serving 80 cities across the United States, Mexico and the Caribbean.

“With a new fleet of Airbus A220-300 aircraft and premium offerings such as free family seating, fast onboard WiFi, preferred seating options, and no change or cancel fees, Breeze is focused on making affordable flying a more comfortable experience,” the company said in announcing the flight to Cancun.

Founded by Neeleman, an aviation entrepreneur, the airline launched in May 2021. Breeze has been named a top four Best Domestic Airline by Travel + Leisure for four consecutive years, the Best Major Airline in North America by APEX, and one of Fast Company’s World’s Most Innovative Companies for 2025.
