GB&D has officially reopened in a brand-new space within The Commons food hall, according to a news release. The move marks a fresh chapter for the concept, now centered around the menu items that helped define its rise: the burger, fried chicken sandwich, bibimbap, the “big FN salad,” and the avocado tomato sandwich, the release stated.

Located in Phase II of The Commons at 147 Welborn St., the new GB&D offers a casual, counter-service setup designed to provide a faster, more focused dining experience — while staying true to its roots in scratch-made, locally sourced fare, the release stated.

“Over the years, it’s been clear which items people keep coming back for,” said Michael “Rossco” Ross, GB&D’s kitchen manager, in the release. “This move gives us the ability to focus on what we do best and serve it in a way that fits the energy and flow of The Commons.”

The move is part of a broader transition for GB&D at The Commons, according to the release. Earlier this spring, the team opened Leo’s Pizza, a dedicated pizza concept led by Ross. In the coming weeks, Delicious by GB&D will open in the original GB&D space, offering a full-service dining experience under the direction of Executive Chef Michael Bowens.

Together, the three new concepts mark an intentional expansion of the GB&D legacy, the release stated.

“Aston is proud to support GB&D’s continued growth and creativity at The Commons,” said Barnes Connell, managing director of Aston, in the release. “These new concepts bring something exciting and distinctive to Greenville’s food scene, while staying true to what made GB&D such a beloved part of the community in the first place.”
