Local restaurateurs plan modern steakhouse on Lexington’s Main Street

A trio of Midlands restaurateurs plans to open a steakhouse in the heart of Lexington early next year.

The new dining destination is set to open its doors in January in Suite 200 at 101 W. Main St. in Lexington, led by industry veterans Steve Cook, Joe Walker and Ryan Jones, according to a news release.

“Our vision is to create a modern take on the classic steakhouse — upscale yet approachable,” Cook said in the news release. “We want to create a space where customers feel good as soon as they walk through the door. Every detail, from the carefully curated menu to the thoughtfully designed interior, is intended to make each visit unforgettable.”

Cook, owner of Saluda’s, Il Bucato Pizza and Arroyo Tacos & Tequila in Columbia, and Walker, a U.S. Army combat veteran and multi-location owner of Marco’s Pizza, Molto Vino and Scooter’s Coffee, bring decades of expertise in developing unique restaurants, the release stated. Jones, former general manager of Hall’s Chophouse in Columbia, adds extensive operational experience to the project.

The property, previously home to Alodia’s Italian Restaurant, is undergoing renovations intended to honor and preserve the building’s historic charm, the release stated. Veteran-owned Boyer Construction is managing renovations, with interior design consultation by Ashley Scott St. John of 1×1 Design.

The soon-to-be-named restaurant is being designed to combine upscale dining with a casual, welcoming atmosphere that features a spacious main dining room, private dining area and year-round outdoor seating, the release stated. Guests can look forward to hand-cut steaks, homemade pasta, fresh seafood and a variety of seasonal dishes.

“We’ve crafted a restaurant concept that’s truly one-of-a-kind, and we’re beyond excited to bring it to Lexington,” Walker said in the release. “By restoring this beautiful building and showcasing its unique design, we’re creating a dining experience that’s both welcoming and elevated. We can’t wait to be part of Lexington’s thriving downtown, and we’re proud to offer a place where people can come together to celebrate life’s milestones and make lasting memories.”

More information, including the restaurant’s official name, will be revealed in the coming months as renovations progress, the release stated.
