Nancy Sutton has been named dean of Engineering Technology & Professional Studies at Greenville Technical College.
Sutton joined the team at Greenville Technical College in 2021 as department head for the paralegal program and, two years later, added responsibility for the criminal justice and human services programs, according to a news release.
Prior to joining Greenville Technical College, Sutton held multiple leadership and faculty positions at Florida State College at Jacksonville, including interim associate dean, instructional program manager, and assistant professor of paralegal studies. Her instructional expertise includes paralegal studies, legal writing, litigation applications, business law and related areas.
She brings a broad legal background to the classroom, having served as an attorney for legal services of the Florida Keys, in private practice and as a staff attorney for a Florida firm. Her legal career includes a strong record of public service, particularly in support of low-income and underserved populations, according to the release.
Sutton earned her juris doctor, cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans College of Law, graduating in the top 10% of her class, and has a Bachelor of Arts in History with a concentration in secondary education. She is an active member of the Florida Bar and several professional associations.
She is committed to community engagement, faith-based service and experiential learning opportunities for students, including educational travel and civic engagement programs, the release stated.
