An Atlanta-based chain will bring its sixth Upstate and 11th Palmetto State location to 1708 East Greenville Street on May 11.

To celebrate its opening, Chicken Salad Chick, will offer free chicken salad for a year to the first 100 guests. According to a new release, Sing Bev Hospitality’s Julie Bev and Michelle Singleton manage the company’s South Carolina franchises.

The restaurant also has a Rock Hill location in the works for later this year.

“Over the past eight years, we've grown incredibly close to communities across the Carolinas by serving the brand's fresh, flavorful menu items and providing a hospitable atmosphere to our friends and neighbors," Beville said in a news release.

Viva Chicken holds popup event at Birds Fly South

This Thursday is for the birds, but Viva Chicken’s cofounders Bruno Macchiavello and Randy Garcia would argue that’s not a bad thing.

The Peruvian street food joint will give Greenville patrons a complimentary preview of the restaurant’s two incoming locations Thursday at “Hot, Fresh and Gone,” a popup event at Birds Fly South Ale at 1320 Hampton Ave.

Viva Chicken will offer samples of its signature Pollo a la Brasa, charcoal-fired chicken, rice, canary beans and plantains with a side of house sauces from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

“You really have to taste Viva to know us,” Macchiavello said in a news release. “These recipes have been in my family for generations, and I am excited to bring them to Greenville. Our first location will open later this year with a second in early 2022.”
