President & CEO

LaTonya Phillips leads Habitat for Humanity Greenville and Laurens County as president and chief executive officer, assuming leadership in 2025 after 16 years with the 20-employee organization addressing construction cost increases, land acquisition challenges and widening affordability gaps.

A Clemson University graduate with a master’s degree in human resource development, Phillips also holds a bachelor’s degree in occupational training and educational development and an associate degree in radiologic sciences from the University of Louisville.

“If you’re the same at 50 as you were at 20, then you’ve wasted 30 years,” she says, emphasizing growth through time and experience.

Her first healthcare position taught fundamental lessons about dignity and respect for all people regardless of background, principles she applied across her work.

Phillips serves as board member and education chair of Greenville Women Giving and launched Housing Options for 2025-26.

She defines success through three measures: earning team and partner trust, demonstrating decisive leadership, and creating sustainable legacy that improves the world.

Colleagues might be surprised to learn that she loves early mornings, quiet time and peaceful spaces for reflection.
