S.C. unemployment claims drop by 2,268 in week
More than 17,000 people filed initial unemployment claims for the week ending June 20, according to DEW. The 17,098 claims represented a decrease from the previous week and brought total claims in the last 14 weeks to 618,729.

Since March 15, 601,631 people have filed initial unemployment claims in the state. The week ending June 13 saw a decrease of 3,368 claims from the previous week, with 1,855 claims filed in Richland County.

For the week ending May 30, 18,986 South Carolinians filed claims, including more than 1,600 in Richland County. That total represented the seventh decrease in claims since mid-March.
