Headquartered in Moncks Corner, the family-owned company is one of the largest independently owned telecommunications providers in the state, serving more than 50,000 customers across Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.
Originally bringing telephone service to Berkeley County in 1904, Home Telecom has continually evolved to meet the changing needs of the region. Under the leadership of William Helmly, the great-grandson of the company’s founder, the organization has expanded from its roots as a local telephone company into a full-service communications provider offering high-speed fiber internet, digital television, voice services, home security, and smart-home technology.
A defining milestone in the company’s growth has been its investment in fiber-to-the-premise infrastructure, delivering symmetrical gigabit internet speeds to homes and businesses throughout the Lowcountry. This focus on innovation has enabled Home Telecom to remain competitive in a rapidly changing industry while continuing to provide the personalized service that has long distinguished the company.
Today, Home Telecom employs more than 200 professionals and operates offices throughout the region, including Moncks Corner, Daniel Island, and Summerville.
