A global flexible workspace company is expanding in South Carolina, with two locations planned for the Midlands.
International Workplace Group — the world’s largest platform for work with brands including Spaces and Regus — is opening six state-of-the-art flexible workspaces in South Carolina, according to a news release. With the long-term shift to more flexible ways of working, IWG is expanding its local network to keep pace with the rising demand for flexible workspaces, bringing the company’s footprint to over 20 locations across the state, the release stated.
The two Midlands locations are 208 W Hampton Ave., Sumter, and 1245 Rosemont Drive, Fort Mill.
The addition of International Workplace Group’s latest locations in South Carolina comes on the heels of the business posting its highest-ever revenue, cash flow and earnings growth and achieving rapid network growth, with more new locations signed and opened in the first half of 2025 than in the entire first decade of its operations, the release stated. IWG’s network now comprises more than 1 million rooms in 121 countries.
The new South Carolina locations are part of a drive by International Workplace Group to meet the sharply rising demand for top-class flexible working space in the area, the release stated.
“We are establishing a stronger and much-needed footprint in South Carolina with these latest openings,” said Mark Dixon, CEO and founder of International Workplace Group PLC, in the release. “An important business hub, South Carolina is a fantastic place for us to boost our expansion plans as the need for high-quality flexible workspaces continues to soar, as hybrid working becomes the new normal.”
The centers will provide space for established firms and start-ups across a range of the state’s top industries, including financial activities, information and professional and business services, among others, as International Workplace Group’s Design Your Own Office service allows companies to tailor their space entirely to their requirements.
The new Regus facilities will include private offices, meeting rooms, co-working and creative spaces.
The building owners decided to invest in the International Workplace Group platform to maximize the return on their real estate spaces by capitalizing on the rapidly expanding demand for hybrid working.
“Our new openings in South Carolina come at a time when more and more companies are discovering that flexible and platform working is incredibly popular with employees, improving their work-life balance and satisfaction, while also providing a multitude of benefits to companies,” Dixon said in the release. “Our workplace model is proven to increase productivity and allows for a business to scale up or down at significantly reduced costs while providing access to thousands of locations.”
International Workplace Group is the leading global platform for work, featuring thousands of locations in more than 120 countries, according to the release.
