Weston & Sampson CMR opens North Charleston facility

The construction, maintenance, repair and operations arm of the Weston & Sampson family of companies has new operations facilities.

Weston & Sampson CMR recently dedicated the new North Charleston construction and operations facility on Dorchester Road.

The 20,000-square-foot facility includes office space, warehouse storage and a multi-bay repair shop designed to support construction, maintenance, equipment repair and operations services throughout the region, according to a news release. The existing building was renovated by Weston & Sampson CMR itself, which served as the general contractor and self-performed much of the renovation work with its own construction personnel.

“We’re proud to celebrate our first construction shop in the region,” Stephen Richard, president of Weston & Sampson CMR, said in the news release. “We’re also excited for the future opportunities it represents and to be an even bigger part of this great community.”

Andy Moody, the general manager of the new facility, added: “We’re really excited about extending what started in New England many years ago. We have capabilities spanning vertical, environmental and aquatics construction. Also, having been named the Best Place to Work in South Carolina the past two years by SCBIZ means we are already well set up to bring value to our clients.”

The company says this investment represents a significant commitment to the continued growth in the region of Weston & Sampson, a nearly $300-million, employee-owned engineering, architecture, construction and operations firm with offices throughout the East Coast, including four in South Carolina. The new facility strengthens the company’s ability to serve municipal, industrial, federal and private-sector clients across South Carolina while reinforcing its focus on creating long-term, high-quality jobs and investing in the communities it serves.
