The Medical University of South Carolina has opened its MUSC Health Clements Ferry Pavilion, providing health care to Charleston and Berkeley counties.
University officials celebrated the opening Jan. 27 but began serving patients at the site in December.
MUSC Health said the 80,000-square-foot medical office building employs 180 team members with over one dozen specialties.
“We are proud to bring MUSC services and expertise to this community,” Dr. Eugene Hong, chief physician executive for MUSC Physicians and MUSC Health, said in a news release. “MUSC is positioned to match the rapid growth across Berkeley and Charleston counties by strategically expanding its facilities, services and clinical capabilities to ensure residents have access to world-class care close to home.”
MUSC said specialties include advanced imaging, adult and pediatric primary care, orthopedics, physical and occupational therapy, ophthalmology, heart and vascular care, gastroenterology, obstetrics, gynecology, oncology and infusion services.
The medical campus is intended to expand MUSC’s reach and close care gaps in the Lowcountry, according to the news release.
