William W. Brown leads Legacy Early College, a Title I public charter school serving approximately 1,700 scholars with free breakfast and lunch in Greenville, and Legacy Advancement, its Central Management Organization supporting capital projects and strategic growth.

Brown is spearheading the Marion Road Campus Project, a transformative 55-acre expansion designed by Moody Nolan Architects that will serve 1,300 K4-8th grade scholars when it opens in 2027. The initiative includes a comprehensive donor campaign inviting community investment in expanding high-quality education in underserved neighborhoods.

“Today, we live in a world where all too often children’s zip codes determine their educational outcome,” Brown said. “That’s a problem that I know can be fixed.”

A graduate of The Citadel with a Bachelor of Arts in business administration, Brown’s leadership has earned recognition including the Urban League MLK Humanitarian Award and induction into Greenville Business Magazine’s Hall of Fame. He previously served as board chair of Artisphere and board member of the Peace Center and Greenville Symphony Orchestra.
