The Beach Co., the developer behind The Jasper, Kiawah Island and other residential communities, has completed The Charles, 15 luxury waterfront town home and apartment rentals in downtown Charleston.
Balfour Beatty, a construction group behind The Jasper and the Emanuel Nine Memorial, led the general contracting for the 66-250-square-foot project.
“Our team is proud to deliver The Charles, a project that exemplifies the craftsmanship and attention to detail that Charleston deserves,” George Ushold, Balfour Beatty vice president of operations in the Southeast, said in a news release. “This achievement reflects our strong partnership with The Beach Company and our shared vision to create spaces that blend historic character with modern luxury.”
Units at The Charles include dedicated parking, rooftop terraces and range from 1,600 to 3,400 square feet. Currently, the website lists available units ranging from $9,000 to $23,000 per month.
The development features 15 three-story townhomes and eight residential flats across three buildings, each designed with details such as mahogany entry doors, quartz countertops and oversized windows, the release stated.
Amenities include dedicated parking, landscaped gardens and community spaces such as a rooftop terrace.
The completion of The Charles builds on Balfour Beatty’s track record in Charleston, including landmark projects such as The Jasper, also developed by The Beach Co., as well as the ongoing delivery of the Emanuel Nine Memorial, the release stated.
