Together SC, a network of 1,000 nonprofits in South Carolina, has launched a social media campaign aimed to emphasize the importance of nonprofits.
The Nonprofits Get It Done campaign is a partnership between Together SC and the National Council of Nonprofits, a network of over 30,000 nonprofits in the United States. According to a news release, the campaign will focus on highlighting how nonprofits show up for those in need, solve problems and serve local communities.
“Nonprofits in South Carolina have a tremendous impact on the wellbeing of our neighbors all year long,” Karen Riordan, president and CEO of Together SC, said in the release. “Whether it is helping residents affected by hurricanes, to feeding children and providing safe, affordable housing for families, South Carolina nonprofits answer the call every day.”
Nonprofits’ vital roles in natural disasters, elderly and food assistance, crisis support, and health emergencies will be the main focus of the campaign, according to the release.
Together SC will help nonprofits such as SC First Steps, which helps kids academically, and Harvest Hope, which helps with food security, in the campaign, the release said.
“Nonprofits Get It Done offers a celebration of the everyday impact nonprofits make, uplifting the people, places and possibilities they help bring to life across the country,” Diane Yentel, president and CEO of NCN, said in the release. “Using real stories of actual nonprofits, we are able to remind the public, and our elected leaders, that nonprofits are essential partners in creating stronger communities.”
