Argent Trust Co. names Greenville market president

Argent Financial Group has named Murray Myers as market president of Argent Trust Co. in the Greenville office.

In this role, Myers will serve as the senior leader overseeing trust, estate and retirement services administration, according to a news release. With more than 30 years of experience, he brings expertise in developing relationships with affluent clients, recruiting top talent, delivering comprehensive services, and driving organizational growth, the release stated.

Myers previously held a 26-year tenure with BB&T, later Truist Bank, following the 2019 merger of BB&T and SunTrust banks. Most recently, he served as executive vice president and wealth division director at Truist.

As market president, Myers will play a key role in Argent’s operations, the release said Reporting directly to CEO Reid Harrell, he will lead the Greenville team in providing exceptional trust, investment, estate, and family office services to high-net-worth clients.

“We are thrilled to have Murray join our Greenville team,” said Harrell in the release. “His strategic leadership, dedication to serving affluent clients with highly personalized service, and ability to build collaborative, high-performing teams make him an excellent addition to our organization.”

Myers earned a master’s degree from Columbia International University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He holds Series 24, 7, and 66 securities licenses, as well as Life and Health Insurance licenses, highlighting his expertise in financial services.

Earlier in his career at BB&T, Myers served as the wealth executive director for the wealth advisor division, according to the release. He also held roles as wealth management group director, regional director, and asset management business development officer. Prior to that, he was vice president, trust officer, and private banking officer at Wachovia Bank, N.A.

“With 30 years of experience delivering wealth management solutions to clients, my goal is to provide customized investment management and financial planning strategies to help clients grow, preserve, and plan for their families’ future across multiple generations,” said Myers in the release. “I am excited to join Argent Financial Group, whose reputation and mission are to put clients first and deliver a comprehensive team approach to meeting their needs with high-touch, personalized service.”

Argent is responsible for more than $85 billion in client assets, according to the release. Formed in 1990 in Ruston, La., Argent can trace its roots back to 1930.
