Locally owned and operated fuel and convenience store chain Corner Pantry is continuing to invest in Camden with the purchase of 4.5 acres and the addition of a new store and Shell-branded fuel station at 51 East Dekalb St.

The new store is scheduled to open this month.

“We proud to be a part of the Camden community and excited for this new location that will provide customers a safe and clean environment for fast, convenient gas and food and beverage service,” David Tucker Sr., Corner Pantry owner and CEO, said in a news release.

The new Corner Pantry store will be company’s fifth location in the Camden area. It will feature daily food service with fresh options for breakfast and lunch, bean-to-cup coffee, and on-the-spot shopping for travel conveniences.

Corner Pantry serves the Midlands of South Carolina with 26 convenient store locations, as well as commercial fueling, fuel transportation, and fuel delivery services. The company acquired in Camden in 2023 and Tucker said his company is committed to the local community with its support for Camden High School athletics, numerous community events and involvement with the Kershaw County Chamber of Commerce.
