Plans are underway for a boutique hotel in Travelers Rest that would add 16 rooms and retail space to some luxury cottages already being operated by Compo Hotels at the site developers call a “lifestyle destination along the Swamp Rabbit Trail.”

The Station by Compo Hotels is a $14 million project at 745 Old Bumcombe Road in the heart of the town and on the Prisma Health Swamp Rabbit Trail. The project features up to 5,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space on the ground floor of the hotel, according to a news release.

Trinity Partners is handling leasing for the retail space.

Designed to attract locals and tourists, The Station offers visibility, outdoor patio space and trail access. Retail tenants will benefit from built-in traffic generated by the hotel, eight existing guest cottages and proximity to local destinations like Tandem Crêperie, Sidewall Pizza and Trailblazer Park, according to Trinity Partners.

“The Station is a rare opportunity for lifestyle-driven businesses to join one of the Upstate’s fastest-growing and most visited small towns,” Rakan Draz, senior brokerage associate, said in the release.

Trinity Partners is a Greenville-based full-service commercial real estate firm serving corporate users and institutional owners throughout the United States.

TR Hospitality Group LLC, in partnership with Compo Hotels, plans to open the new hotel in 2026.
