Carolina-native joins Iron Rose as executive chef

- Plans to highlight local ingredients and coastal Southern cuisine
Iron Rose, the restaurant inside The Mills House hotel, appointed a new executive chef.
Suzy Castelloe began her career in the restaurant industry after graduating from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill. According to a news release, she has worked with chefs at Coda Del Pesce and Charleston Grill, where she served as chef de cuisine.
“After spending the past decade working in the Charleston hospitality industry, I am thrilled to bring my passion for creating meaningful dining experiences to Iron Rose,” Castelloe said in the release. “Whether guests are longtime locals or visiting Charleston for the first time, I’m excited to showcase local ingredients and create dishes that feel familiar, thoughtful and welcoming.”
Iron Rose said Castelloe spends time outside of the kitchen with her dog, Stella, solving a jigsaw puzzles or trying new Charleston restaurants.
The Southern coastal style restaurant is located on Meeting Street in downtown Charleston, now in its fourth year.
