Caine Company, a Greenville-based real estate services organization, has created a chief operating officer role as the company advances its long-term vision for growth across , , insurance, property services, developer services and other affiliated businesses.

Matt Alexander has joined Caine Company as COO and will help lead the next phase of the organization’s evolution into a more connected, enterprise-level real estate services platform, the company says. His appointment represents an important milestone in the Caine Co.’s continued investment in executive leadership, shared services and alignment across its affiliated businesses, including , and .

As COO, Alexander will work closely with President and CEO Stephen Edgerton and leadership teams across the organization to bring greater alignment to Caine Co.y’s shared services platform and support the company’s continued growth, according to a news release. The new executive role will allow Caine’s business unit leaders to remain focused on clients, associates and growth while creating greater coordination across the broader enterprise.

Caine Co.’s long-term vision includes continued leadership in residential brokerage, commercial real estate and insurance while building expanded capabilities in property services, developer services and other affiliated businesses. Together, these offerings are intended to position Caine Co. as a comprehensive real estate services platform serving clients, developers, investors, strategic partners and property owners across the full lifecycle of a property.

“This is an important moment for Caine Co.,” Edgerton said in the news release. “For more than 90 years, Caine has grown by listening to the needs of our clients, our associates and our community. As the real estate landscape continues to evolve, we see a significant opportunity to build a more connected platform that brings together our strengths in residential real estate, commercial real estate, insurance, property services and developer services. Matt’s leadership, operational experience and development background make him the right person to help shape this next phase of growth.”

Alexander brings extensive experience in , operations and community-focused leadership, the release stated. He most recently served as vice president of development operations for Parker Group Development, a Greenville-based development firm focused on residential and adaptive reuse real estate. During his tenure, he contributed to work across mixed-use, commercial and residential projects in the Greenville market, bringing a practical understanding of development, placemaking and the operational discipline required to move complex projects forward.

Alexander’s path to real estate leadership began with a foundation in service. A graduate of Furman University and Clemson University, he was a four-year ROTC scholarship recipient at Furman and was commissioned into the U.S. Army as a helicopter pilot after graduation. He flew Blackhawk MEDEVAC helicopters, served a tour of duty in Iraq in 2011 and continued flying with the Georgia National Guard until 2017, the release said.

His civic and professional involvement includes service with the Urban Land Institute, Downtown Presbyterian Church, the Advisory Council at Homes of Hope and the Greenville Airport Commission. He was recently appointed to the Alumni Board of Furman University.
