Hood Construction is a family-owned construction management firm delivering collaborative, client-focused projects across South Carolina, built on integrity, strong culture, and building the right way.
Inspired by his grandfather, a homebuilder who led with pride and integrity, Mark Hood grew up learning the craft and the value of doing things the right way. At just 24, he took a fearless leap and started Hood Construction, driven by optimism and work ethic. His vision was simple: build great projects and create a culture filled with people he felt privileged to work alongside.
“In our early years, attracting and retaining quality people was a challenge. As a new company, we lacked the name recognition, portfolio, and resources to compete with established firms on salary and benefits. Building our reputation took persistence and time,” Hood said. “As we grew, so did our ability to invest in our team — while staying rooted in our commitment to people and doing business the right way.
Hood serves as President and CEO of the company, and his son, Austin, is a project manager.
“Our long-term goal is to position the company to thrive for generations,” Hood said. “As a family-owned business, success means building a lasting legacy rooted in strong systems, thoughtful leadership, and steady growth.”
