What does it mean to you to be a women-owned business?

I have been fortunate enough to be surrounded by intelligent and inspiring female leaders and visionaries. I would not have had the courage to take the leap to start my own agency without the career experience they provided me. To name a few: Buffy Kelly of Tattoo Projects, Beth Bell of BraveWorks, Ann Yancy of Ro Sham Beaux, Christa O’Leary of Home in Harmony Designs, Angel Holmes of LikeMinded and more. These women have shaped and sharpened me in both my professional life and personal development.

What challenges have you faced as a women-owned business?

Although this is not a female specific challenge, it is the one that stands out the most to me as a creative agency owner. In our industry (the world of social media) there is a lot of noise. I frequently connect with businesses that undervalue the potential that social media has for their business development or grow victim, as many of us do, to believing every “rule” or “do this, don’t do this” fad. Effective Social Media is truly an art that takes strategy, consistency, and creativity. We confidently provide that to each and every client, and we are grateful for the ones that trust us with the challenge.

How do you support women in your business and community?

The community of female entrepreneurs in Charleston is unlike anything I’ve experienced. These women know what it means to go after their dreams, and I’ve found that they genuinely want to connect with one another. I joined the Women of Influence Charleston leadership team early into their beginnings in 2023 which was an incredible introduction to a handful of leading women. In a sense, you have to get out of your own way, and be bold in forming connections. I remember reaching out to Owner of OMG Candy, Ashley Daly, a few months into launching my business. She was someone I admired from afar, and was kind enough to have a phone conversation with me. She told me about her background, and how she got where she is today. Ashley also answered silly questions I had like “How do you balance it all? Business, family, and maintaining your sanity?”. Putting yourself out there and believing in yourself is key to connecting and building your own personal community. I most recently became a member of LikeMinded Charleston, founded by Angel Holmes. I think investing your time, money, and resources into local communities of other women in business is critical and so rewarding, but that’s only the beginning. Following up, checking in, and supporting women who are working just as diligently as you are on making their dreams a reality is really where it’s at. I’ve found great joy in pouring into other female entrepreneurs, and having the same done in return.

What recent accomplishments are you most proud of?

In the journey of building a business, milestones are not just markers of time — they are reflections of hard work, perseverance, and the power of collaboration. We are thrilled to announce that our company has grown from a one-person operation into a thriving team of four talented women. This growth signifies more than just an increase in numbers. It represents our commitment to fostering a collaborative environment where ideas flourish, and innovation thrives. Each of these remarkable women brings unique skills, perspectives, and passions to the table, making our team stronger and more dynamic than ever before. As we continue to grow, we remain dedicated to our mission of delivering excellence in every aspect of our work.
