President, Broker in Charge
Dunes Properties of Charleston, Inc

What are you most looking forward to in your new position?

One of our founder’s most important charges was to keep agent and employee ownership in Dunes Properties a top priority for us — it’s part of who we are. We believe true ownership begins with a culture rooted in caring: caring for our real estate and property management clients, for our vacation guests, and for each other. By building a company where everyone feels personally invested in the success of every relationship and every experience, we create a lasting legacy of pride, trust, and excellence.

What is the biggest challenge facing your industry right now?

In Charleston’s luxury market, the biggest challenge is navigating shifting expectations amid a stabilizing landscape. Inventory is growing, but high-end buyers remain selective, and sellers must be strategic to stand out. With over 36 years of experience in the Lowcountry and a strong presence in both luxury real estate sales and a strong vacation rental company, Dunes Properties is uniquely positioned to guide clients through this evolving market with confidence and precision.

What was your first job, and what did you learn from it?

My first job was cutting lawns and shoveling driveways in my neighborhood in Northern Virginia. As demand grew, I found myself managing repeat clients and bringing on friends to help during busy times. That experience taught me how to build trust, deliver consistent service, and lead with accountability—  principles that have stayed with me throughout my real estate career.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever heard?

One of the best pieces of advice I’ve ever heard was echoed by Warren Buffett and Steve Jobs in different ways: “Focus relentlessly on what truly matters, and say no to everything else.” Warren Buffett said, “The difference between successful people and really successful people is that really successful people say no to almost everything.” Steve Jobs echoed this mindset when he said, “Focusing is about saying no.”

What is something most people would be surprised to know about you?

Most people are surprised to learn that I’m a competitive shooter and have competed in numerous state championships. It’s a sport that requires focus, discipline, and precision — all qualities that translate well into my work in real estate and leadership. It’s also a great way to challenge myself outside of the office.
