Director of Strategic Initiatives
The Greenville Area Development Corp.

What are you most looking forward to in your new position?

I’m most looking forward to the opportunity to lead high-impact initiatives that support both economic growth and community well-being in Greenville County. This role allows me to blend strategy, collaboration, and creativity to shape outcomes that benefit residents, businesses, and the future of our region.

What is the biggest challenge facing your industry right now?

A major challenge in economic development today is attracting the right kinds of companies in an increasingly competitive national landscape. We’re not focused on population growth — we’re focused on bringing industries to Greenville County that create high-quality jobs and career pathways for the people who already live here. That means aligning workforce development, infrastructure, and quality of life in a way that helps both businesses and residents thrive.

What was your first job, and what did you learn from it?

My first job was working in market research, where I learned the value of asking the right questions and using data to inform strategy. That early experience taught me how to turn insights into action — something I carry with me in every role.

What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever heard?

Here are two of the best I’ve heard:

“Listen to understand, not to respond.” It’s a simple reminder that effective leadership starts with empathy and that real progress comes from building trust and truly hearing those around you. The GADC listens our community’s wants and needs, and uses that to inform our initiatives and focus.

“Progress doesn’t happen in silos.” This reminds me that collaboration across teams, sectors, and perspectives is essential for real, lasting impact. At the GADC, we develop and maintain collaborative partnerships across the community to build a better future for Greenville County.

What is something most people would be surprised to know about you?

I studied Environmental Studies and Geography before pursuing an MBA. That blend of environmental awareness and business strategy continues to shape how I approach economic development — with a focus on long-term impact and responsible growth.
